I wish they'd either trade Pelfrey or send him down. He's clearly not ready for the big leagues now.

just becuz hes not reday doesnt mean you trade him!!! Why not? Teams are interested in him even though he's 0-4 with a 5 ERA. It is not as if we need pitching in the future. We have Perez, Maine, Humber, and Vargas.

I was thinking trading him, Milledge, and Heilman for a Dan Haren.

Dan Haren is only 27 and if you look at some of his stats over the past years, they've been improving. He may not have the ceiling Pelfrey has but we need a proven winner now, not some rookie who doesn't think he's ready. We can spare Milledge because we have Martinez and Gomez as OF prospects. Heilman has not been very good this season. He wants to be a starter and that could effect his performance in the pen. He obviously is not going to re-sign once he becomes a FA so you might as well get something out of him.

We have Perez, Maine, Humber, and Vargas. Think about it. Those guys are pretty good, but not a dependable staff as yet. Mets need to build their pitching strength now. That is their primary need. Trading a great young arm would not be the best idea at this juncture.
