the rams now have dante hall from the chiefs to return kicks for them...he has declined some recently but all they gave up was a 5th round pick and they swapped positions (2 spots) in the 3rd round...seems like a nice pick up considering their special teams ranked near the bottom of the nfl

Now they have a lagit. threat on their team. Also, let's not forget that Hall is a route runner as well so if something happens and someone gets hurt, he could be a decent backup. So my opinion; Hall for a fith round pick, not bad at all.

good value for basically a 5th round pick.....better than drafting a rookie KR in the 5th

You make a very valid point. A rookie would need time to warm up to the NFL while Hall can just do what he does oh so well already.

A rookie would need time to warm up to the NFL while Hall can just do what he does oh so well already. the only flaw in my thoery is that KR and PR do not need to adjust as much as a position player so a guy like yamon figurs from kansas state, who has great physical attributes, may very well be better than dante hall in '07 |

I like it from the Chiefs side of the deal. Hall has clearly declined and tries to make stuff happen to much, not hit the holes. He's not a big threat as a receiver either, as the Chiefs are trying to get bigger and more physical at the WR spot.
I think it's a good deal for both, Rams upgrade their special teams, Chiefs collect draft picks. Also KC and STL swapped 3rd rounders, KC moves up 2 spots.

ya both teams did benefit, the chiefs got younger by letting him go and gettting draft picks, and anybody is an upgrade for the rams special teams especially hall

I didn't know that they swapped third rounders. That is kind of swaying me toward KC for a better deal!
