Are you suprised that the team is in first place? At the beggining of the year most didn't think the Cardinals would be more then a mediocore this year.

Surprised?
Not really to be honest. I felt that the team was 1 SP away from the playoffs and Josh Johnson was that SP. The team is also about to get Glaus back at 3B and that will improve the offense quite a bit more even. The injury to Carpenter is pretty huge, however, so the team is currently shopping Colby Rasmus 84/93 CF in a deal for a young SP....

Young reliever Chris Perez is struggling out of the bullpen, is it likely he will be sent back down to the minors to straighten things out?

I have considered it, but I think he is ready for the ML and just needs time to adjust....

plans...not particularly....my team is in a position to win now and I plan continue adding young pieces to this roster. now if the opportunity arises to add a prospect which makes sense I certainly wont shy away....

Cardinals acquire Andrus and Ramirez in prospect swap. The opportunity to add some offensive prospects arose and I took full advantage. I am still looking to package Rasmus and other prospects for a good young SP. Let me know if you are interested.....
