Grady Sizemore is good but he's not yet the kind of player Beltran is. I'd say in 3-4 years he will be.

1 year at most. He has to have a breakout year sometime, I'd say it would be this one.
I would have thought someone would jump on the Manny pick.
I'm sorry, but you can't leave out Manny when he hits like he does.

As you can see, I picked players who have been playing like stars for atleast one year

Both Sizemore and Beltran have had great starts. I see a big season for both (barring injuries obviously). I think Beltran has the edge because he has amazing defensive skills.
I understand the Manny pick. Every time he hits the ball, he hits it hard. I remember in the 5 game series against the Yankees he shot a homer over the Green Monster and it landed in a parking lot several blocks away. I choose Crawford because he is a good hitter, has great speed, and good defense (especially for a LF).

A little insecure there, diehardmetsfan?
What do you expect from a fan of your rival team?
Just live with the fact that not everyone loves Reyes.

Plus, watch the language. We can have good discussions without foul language.

Mauer is one of the rarest breeds of catcher; he can hit for contact, comes through in the clutch, and is excellent behind the plate. Jose Reyes had a good year in 2005 and 2006, that's two years. Let's see Jeter try to do half the things Reyes can (field, run, hit with power, and be a positive influence in the clubhouse). C: Joe Mauer 1B: Albert Pujols 2B: Chase Utley SS: Derek Jeter 3B: Alex Rodriguez LF: Manny Ramirez CF: Johnny Damon RF: Vladimir Guerrero Please tell me you are joking. Damon is fragile nowadays. Plus he couldn't throw out a runner if his life depended on it.

I think he will but you obviously aren't going by expectations. Please tell me you are joking. Damon is fragile nowadays. Damon couldn't throw out a runner if his life depended on it. Mauer has only had one great year, V-Mart is the probably the top offensive catcher of the past 4 years. Jose Reyes '05 was nothing like his '06. And I just had to put Sizemore up there to see how you Mets fans would react.

Even if he doesn't have a .347 BA, his defensive skills won't go down sharply. Reyes still had a good year in 2005. I don't mind you choosing Sizemore. I think it's stupid that you have to have a 2 year requirement to decide who the best is which eliminates guys who have vastly improved from their previous season.

The Damon pick is ridiculous. No arm, decent glove, good leadoff hitter, but when CF's are putting numbers up like Beltran, Sizemore, Wells, Ichiro, A. Jones, I don't see how Damon comes close.
It can go either way on Jeter or Reyes IMO. So of course Mets fans will pick Reyes, and Yankee fans will pick Jeter.
Mauer doesn't have to prove anything to me. If it's not Mauer, then I'd go with McCann or Pudge before Martinez.
More LF's to throw in the mix: Jason Bay, Alfonso Soriano, and Carlos Lee.
