Why is this such a long conversation? The fielder clearly can't play baseball if he lets someone else call him off when he's right under it, first of all. When Jose Reyes was asked about this, he said that when he says he has it, he has it. A-Rod tried to pull a fast one on a rookie and it worked. If Russ Adams of the Toronto Blue Jays did this it wouldn't be a big story. Is A-Rod a slimebag for doing this? No. Is A-Rod a slimebag of a person? Yes.

Reyes is the shortstop, it's ALWAYS the SS's ball. If David Wright yelled I got it, Reyes would back off. Also, Reyes plays everyday. The 3B was just up from the minors, he's going to back off as soon as he hears anything. A-Rod is a sleeze for doing it. If anyone did this to him, he'd STILL be moaning about it. On the field, off the field, the guy is a phony scumbag.

Can't play baseball, you do realize he just started playing in MLB in a team he still not use to. It'll take time for him to gain confidence. Try moving to a new school where you don't know people, I'm sure the first couple days you will be caution at school.

he gets the job done, thats it, even if he is an asshold he still gets his job done, a clutch player. If he learnt a little respect he would be great, or even own up to what he did

It's not about fundamentals. Obviously he knows but A-Rod distracted him by saying "Mine". He's not going to go after it because he didn't know the SS didn't say it. The IF communicate to avoid injuries.

yeah, but A-rod sounds completley different from John macdonald, but Howie Clark just got called up (he made his MLB debut in 2003) so he wouldint know how Johny Mac sounds

Please, he was right under the ball. Why would someone else call him off? Like I've said, a veteran A-Rod taking advantage of a rookie who should've caught the baseball.

Lot of players get nervous on their first couple of games in the major playing side by side with Major League players. As he mature he'll get use to them.
