this is horrible. How do the qiants do this to themselves. There were no bidders for bonds, knowone. then they go out and give him 16 million. They should have offered hime 8 and then waited. 10 at the most. They could have used this money on younger players. For bonds this is a great deal, he gets a ton of money to be a pinch hitter. He also gets to stay with the only fans in the world that actually like him. Sosa going to texas is jusst a desperat attempt to show he can play without cheating, he will get crushed by the fans and end up worse then before

I'm up:
The Barry Bonds deal is one of the dumbest this off-season. The Giants were the only ones interested in him. No other club was despite the reports that several were. They could have gotten him for less than half of what they paid. They had the leverage in the deal; Barry takes what they offer or doesnt play. Now, the one good thing about this deal is it is going to bring in fans. Just imagine how many people are going to Bonds' next game when he has 754 under his belt.
Sosa is a better deal. it's a minor league deal so it keeps their MLB roster open. Sosa is old but today players can play much later than before. He has had an impressive career. He had more than just 1 good season unlike McGwire.
The issue with these deals is that these 2 are suspected steroid users. What kind of message is MLB sending when a player who was confirmed to have taken drugs is making $16M at the age of 40? What is it saying that a guy who also was suspected of steroids and proven of cheating getting a second chance? The MLB needs to become more firm in its position on steroids. Even if they are just suspected, there needs to be more done to solve the issue and prevent it so we can finally get out of the era of steroids and players can play with their natural talent like they used to.

You know what I love about the Timber wolves stopping the Sun’s streak? Kevin Garnett. Kevin Garnett is one of the best players in the NBA, but he plays on a bad team that gets no publicity. Also, Garnett is an old-fashioned, team player. He knows he’s a superstar, but he passes the ball. But, last night, Garnett knew that he needed to take control and win the game for his team. And, a great game he had. Garnett dropped 44 points and 11 rebounds, getting a double-double. Garnett also went 8-10 from the line, shooting 80% and 18-29 from the field, shooting 62%. He also managed to pull down 4 offensive rebounds and 3 steals. Garnett just had an all-around, great game. The Wolve’s also shot 59% from the field and 86% from the line. Ricky Davis also chipped in with 17 points and 8 assists. It was a great game to watch.

The suns streak was going to end soon enough, they just can't win games when there defense gives up 100+ a game. DET won the finals last year because of one thing DEFENSE, no matter how good you are, your just not going to win ballgames because one game your not going to score. Also lets look how really good these teams were that they beat. NY, DET, CHI, TOR, MIA, GS, SEA, CLE, ORL, MEM, HOU, POR, MIN, WSH, NY, MIL, CLE, 11 out of the 17 teams are in the eastern confrence, they didn't play DAL, or SA, NY is pretty bad they almost lost to MIL without Redd, and Williams, MIA is pretty bad, I can see maybe 4 or 5 good teams out of the 17. They lost to MIN because they allowed Kevin Garnett to score 44 points, and they shot the ball from the 3 pt line 36 times.15-36, they could have used some of that to go in the paint to Marion, and Stoudimre, trust me they wont go far in the playoffs if they dont get there Defense shaped up.

Everybody's saying that they cant believe they lost. Its sports every team can lose. There are perfect teams that still lose. Its called a bad day. Thats y i say i can believe they lost, cuz they did lose. Minnesota tried to play half court and not run and gun in the 2nd half, and as usual Penix folded up like a cheap suit. Oh, and not to mention Minnesota wasn't missing their main player (like so many other teams that played those losers lately).
