competing with the cubs pitching? thats if they stay healthy for once. ted lilly marquis and th emergence of some quality young pitching should carry chicago far enough to beat the cardinals after all they did was lose jeff suppan and jeff weaver

There's no way the Cardinals are gonna pull off their magic again. The Cubs are way too powerfull this season, even if their great starting rotation struggles from injuries again. With Soriano, Lee, and Ramirez, the Cubs have a very scary lineup. The Cardinals barely won the division last season, anyways. Pujols is just one player. Sure, he's the best player in the majors, but he can't take the Cardinals to the playoffs all by himself. As for possibly taking the wild card spot, you've gotta be kidding me as well. Look at the Mets and Phillies in the NL East...scary.

i have to complain about that, Wainwright and Reyes are going to make an impact this year, ted lilly will get injured, all pitchers signing big contracts after "okay" years always end up on the DL.

The Kansas City Royals once again will be heading into the season with a team slightly better than the elite minor league teams, if at all. They still don't have any "scary" players. So even when they'll manage to take a lead into the 9th inning by catching the other team by surprise, I'm sure Octavio Dotel who posted a 10.80 ERA last season can turn it around.
