Bonds deserves to be in the HOF.
The reason the vote for Mark McGwire was so controversial is that he wasn't a first ballot HOF type of player. He was a great homerun hitter, but didn't exactly blow you away with any other stats.
Bonds has Gold Gloves, has stolen many bases over his career, has a great OBP for his career, and unbelievable power numbers. Even now, declining in his career with unhealthy knees, he will be one of the best hitters in the game.
It still hasn't really been proven that he is a steroid user. Sure, you can make a good case towards it. But until he is found guilty by a jury, I can't see a reason to keep him out.
